Today my guild were doing a Tombs run. On the underworld level we encountered an IWAY group. We do the usual, we be polite and say "gl+hf"! The opposing team starts saying we're an IWAY guild and says all the stuff like "Alt+F4 for unlimited health!" etc... Their attitude was as if they won already and so the game started. We flawlessed them.
I really dislike the attitude of some people in Tombs.

Carnajo, I know exactly how you feel. Even though it's not as bad as the hate on Necro's and Mesmer's, being a Ranger, you can probably tell I'm not the first one picked when mission time, hell, anytime, rolls around. Well, I'm a group full of 5 W/Mo's (Not by choice, I assure you) Getting a test run to Copperhammer mines. There's the 5 Warriors, me, an ele, and a monk. We're doing okay, when all of a sudden, one of the Warriors stupidly runs off, and dies a few seconds later. Well, we mosey on over, and the monk revives him. Well, this same person decides to run ahead AGAIN, and aggros a giant group of Summit dwarves. Now, of course, he dies again. During the course of the fight, when the monk tried to revive him, the monk got swarmed by dwarves and died. Now, he gets pissed, and starts bad-mouthing me because even though almost everyone else in the group is part monk, I'm a Ranger and therefore "useless." Obviously, I did not take this so well, and stopped the rebirth I was casting on him in favor of the monk, who was a bit further away. This caused him to tweak, and started laying into me quite profusely about how I was" a useless noob who didn't know how to play, you're a stupid ranger, you're obviously a noob." I'm laughing hysterically by this point, revive the monk and walk off. Now, the really funny part is, the rest of my group decided he was better off dead and left him there. ^_^
While I still don't appreciate the W/Mo class, I've got a bit more respect for a few and a lot less for one. ^_^

yes just like that. lol
I hate people that moan about rangers. I'm usually last one standing. And I'm an r/me, no monk in me
Actually my most recent one was in UW. I joined an all trapper group, but we took a W/R with us too. Unfortunately, this turns out to be a guy from another forum I'm on (Sacred). He's a bit of a jerk (used to spam my forum with er... lets say 'Wizard hat' type stuff til i banned him). Anyhoo he gets in the group:
"Pevil I know you "
Do you?
"haha yeah. *name from forum*"
Oh. hi.
We go into UW. It starts up with:
"We must have sex!" and many other such comments. I just ignore it. Then:
"I'm gonna rape you and kill your bf"
Well this I'm not ignoring, so I tell him to shut the hell up. No one else bothers to say a word. They let this continue. I get abuse about
"You're just a forum geek! Who the **** has 2000+ posts!" (he wasn't complaining when I helped him with a bug he had in the game).
Ignored.
Later on I unignored him, as I decided I regretted not taking screenshots of the conversation (which lasted a good 20 mins before I got sick of his abuse and ignored him) so now if he tries anything again, he's ss'ed and reported.

We were getting ready to go on a FoW run with mostly guildies and we picked up a few from the crowd hanging around ToA. I paid for the run as we do in our guild taking turns paying for it.
We brought along a W/Mo who kept running off. He pulled pretty good but couldn't wait for recharge before starting a new attack and some of our nukers started accumulating DP's. We got to the forge and the leader asked me to pull. Well this was right after the AoE got nerfed and we were all getting used to it. Things went bad and the jerk started going off on me for doing a bad pull and getting killed.
I pay for his trip down there, and get him pretty far after a major nerf and I get the, "He can't Pull", "Stay here retard", etc. Sometimes I wish we could turn on our teammates.

Well I've been lucky enough to avoid these experiences in GW, but another one happened to me just now.
We were doing the Dunes of Despair bonus with a pug. Our group was: E/Mo healer (guildie), Mo/Me (me), two Rangers, a Mesmer, and lastly a Necro. Yep, no warriors.
I was going to be protecting the hero of course, while the rest go forth and assassinate the three generals. I just cast Life Barrier+Life Bond+Essence Bond on Hero(yeah I forgot Mending ><!!!), and Balthazar's Spirit on myself, all the while staying out of any mob's aggro of course. Needless to say, the Hero and I were sitting pretty nicely. Meanwhile, the others are doing their thing, and killed two of the three generals. It was around the 4 minute mark when FOR SOME REASON one of the rangers comes back to where the Hero and I were. I could already guess what that ranger was thinking, and so I say, "don't." She promptly aggroes the mobs attacking the hero, and dies. The mob switches their attention on me and it wasn't long before I was dead. And yeah, the Hero soon followed. And we all failed. The others were attacking the last general too. That ranger mapped out before we returned to the outpost.
Obviously I'm feeling that it wasn't an accident, as everyone very well knew to not go back to the hero, except me of course. *sigh*

this is my favorite:
it happened few days ago, while i was playing my new character (mo/e protector kaspersky )
anyways, i got into a party for 'frost gate' coop - not bad party i thought: 2x w/mo, 2x ele and r/mo
while we were doing bonus, we somehow managed to aggro all those doylaks (6-7), and of course they wont die that easy when in group so we pulled back... leaving our ranger in aggro blob... too far to cast resurect - we agreed to try to fight through mob, and pull her out
suddenly, fierce battle started... in one moment i thought we have a player less... fast countdown-> warrior in front of me as well as 2 elementals, dead ranger in the middle of the mob... where the hell is other warrior???
at that moment i turned camera round the terrain and saw our warrior really long way behind me...
ok, so i thought lag, afk or whatever... but as time was ticking i was running out of energy, as well as elementals... so i desperately yelled: 'other warrior, u moron come here and fight!'. i really didn't expect answer to this, but it came really shocking the whole group: 'yea, but who's going to res. your lousy asses when u die?'
some started laughing, some joined me trying to make our w/mo realize that playing secondary monk class isn't all about resurecting others! i mean -> first time i saw warrior who was not running, cutting, stance-ing, bashing... the guy was standing behind the group monk... waiting for us to die so he could res. us...
anyhow, the guy shuted up after a few mins of this little argue... he started behaving more like team player, and finally we completed mission all at one piece

This story deserves a comment. I wouldn't consider the cautious warrior a candidate for "biggest jerk" here, although it may be argued that he was playing a little too cautiously. I have also been in lots of situations where the battle seemed hopeless, and the best thing the team could do is pull back, let the enemy fall back, resurrect the dead, and try again. Unfortunately, many players do not understand the concept of fall back. Many cannot because they are trapped, but the ones who can fall back should when the situation is hopeless. This is preferrable to having to redo the entire mission. It could be that your warrior assumed that you guys were a little bit in over what you could handle, and would have preferred that you all retreated. He probably also assumed that it could only be worse if he joined the battle, you all died, with no one to resurrect. Again, it may be a bad judgement call on his part, as you did say you won the battle after he joined. But, hey, isn't calling him "moron" when you told him to come help being a bit jerky and rude?

firstly, i never called guy jerk, just gave funny picture from game
secondly, of course u have to be cautious, but do u consider being cautious when whole group is spilling own guts while one guy stands beside for about 2-3 minutes just watching? not even giving a clue what to do? i mean if we all had a deal to go through the mob why he left behind?
and finally, yes, it was completely jerky to call guy moron, since i was really, really frustrated by the situation;i usually dont do stuff like that

Well, its your call, I wasn't there. I just wanted to offer a different point of view, not a judgement call. Its just because I have had this very thing happen to me often: the entire party gets into a battle that they cannot win, for example because another wandering mob becomes involved (not the case here). And despite me drawing on the minimap for people to fall back, no one does. In many cases it is me who is far behind in the sidelines hoping the group or part of the group will realize the futility of the situation and fall back. Or at least if they all die, hoping I will still be alive and unnoticed so that I can rez everyone so we can continue.

i really understand every word u say. i even (as a monk) have tendencies of standing back, even running if i have to (if my healings fail), and bringing whole group back...
but the case here was that this guy left standing on the hill, as whole team spreaded forward (apart from our deal to attack) - so that's only thing i was upset about... and whole story was a bit funny (we hit doylaks, they heal, we pull back,we hit doylaks, they heal, we pull back,we hit doylaks, they heal, we pull back )...

Multiple Jerk/Jerk Story. ToA :This Evening - Dist 5 (1 Loss away from losing the favor to Korea)
In ToA: I was with 2 of my guild members (Both fellow Rangers) and my Wife (She was a Mesmer we were all Trappers) We were noticing that we had a problem with the Mobs wading out of our traps or running through them that we thought it would be good it if we brought along another person to do some direct damage (I.e. Health Degen) Se we ask my wife to log on and play with us...She agrees loads up DD and we are off...
So we start adverting:
"Small experienced group LF 1 Trapper for UW. Trip will be paid for."
ACCEPT INVITE: Ranger Jerk 1 (RJ1)
Me: Hiya can you bring EW or QZ?
RJ1: (TC) WTF is a Mesmer doing here. Get rid of Mesmer! We are gonna lose the favor!!
Me: I.... wont be doing that. She's my wife...so relax. Can you bring EW?
RJ1: WTF this is a trapper group.
Me: No I said "Small Group LF 1 Trapper for UW." We are mostly trappers.
RJ1: (PM) You are stupid, and you will ^&%#ing die sooo quick. You and your (unkind word for a portion of the female anatomy begining in "C") wife.
Me: Jerk! Okay...Bye Jack-a-double-S. *Kicked*
ACCEPT INVITE: Ranger Jerk 2 (RJ2)
Me: Welcome, can you bring EW..
RJ2: (PM) WTF IS THE MES DOING HERE? KICK HER LETS GO BEFORE WE LOSE FAVOR. GOGGOGOGOG!
Me: No, She stays.
RJ2: (PM) F'ING STUPID NOOBCAKES!!! WASTING MY TIME!! *Leaves*
I can only assume that they were both Jerks AND cowards for not announcing how they felt about our "Mesmer-Kicker" in team chat. So if you read this... yes you are COWARDS as well as JERKS!!
Both RJ1 & RJ2 keep adverting to get into groups well until we finally pay for our entrance. (In fact both advert that they need 2 trappers so I guess they were together.)
The funniest thing is: we finally hooked up with a Trapper/Ranger who saw that DDmg and HDegen would be good since the new AI and had a Run with 3 Ectos Drop. A Sapphire a Gold Eternal Bow (Near Perfect) and a Spider Cap. Best run of my few times in the UW.
and the best part...
Not 5 seconds after getting in the UW msg appears that Korea has taken the favor. So I doubt the Jerks got into UW in time... serves them right...
(sings) ....Instant Karma's gonna get you.

Competition Arena:
I was playing a mesmer (somehow this does not happen to me when playing monk )
I was down (after causing the enemy monk to suicide himself with echo-backfire etc.). The 3 remaining wars did not rez. I got a little impatient after a min. and the other team being with 4, so I said "someone rez me plz". One of the wars (the only one that wasn't a war/mo) rezzed and we won. One of the wa/mo's started saying something about not rezzing weaklings.
Same sort of thing happened in the next battle and the next. Both wa/mo's started getting angry with the other warriors for continuing to rez me when I was down, saying that they did not want 'weak' characters with no self-heal to get free faction. I asked if they had ever played anything besides wa/monk, at which point they started the "NOOB!!!" & abuse-throwing thing. At that point I left (in time for them to get another player for the next battle). I whispered the third warrior "sorry for leaving, but these guys are idiots". He whispered me back a little later saying that he left as they kept going on about him rezzing me and another 'weak' player.
So the lesson is: NEVER REZ ANYONE THAT IS NOT A WARRIOR OR A MONK CAUSE THEY ARE WEAK!

man fenris, I hate that so much. Its those rangers than give a bad name. They always complain about not getting picked but for UW "our area of expertise" lol they become the jerks like everyone else. Its just plained stupid. I usually dont mind if theres a diff prof that ends up in the trapper group, or any type of "build" u have to change things up to learn new things. Those are the losers who dont like change and cant handle the AI update cause they suck
